People are starting to recognise the power of video and how businesses need to start using them in their marketing strategies.
Social media is making it easier for people to share videos and are encouraging people to create more with features like ‘Live’ and ‘Stories’.
In this article we’ll talk about the newest features Facebook are bringing out in 2018 and how you can use them to your advantage!
Facebook Live – is it ‘good’?
I’m sure you’ve heard by now, “You need to use Facebook Live”.
But, do you really?
We tried out Facebook Live before the Christmas break and we realised we were worrying about the thought of filming a live video, if we mess up we cant change it or edit it out. Also, the quality of the video wasn’t at its best, which made it look messy and unprofessional. We soon realised Facebook live videos aren’t for everyone, especially when you can film a video with out the stress and edit out the mess-ups.
Replacing your cover photo with a video.
If you have a business page then this is important information for you. Facebook have added a feature where you can replace your cover photo with a cover video, but only on your business page. Like anything, it has its limitations but it makes your business page look professional and allows you to increase engagement to the video.
Don’t post videos from YouTube on Facebook
It’s easy to upload a video onto Facebook from YouTube and always has been, but can you measure the engagement? Postplanner.com tested the performance of a video uploaded directly to Facebook and a video uploaded from YouTube.
The results were:
- YouTube video got 111 views and 3 thumbs up
- The natively uploaded Facebook video got 100 likes, 3 shares and 5,841 views – using the exact same video.
Pinning a video to the top of your business page
You can now pin a post to the top of your page. This means it will be the first post your audience will see when they click on your business page. Pinning your video is a great way to increase engagement and gives an instant insight to your business.
